River is another that I fell in love with early on in the litter!!!
She is full of fun and always up to mischief. River is also ball mad and still can't work out how to pick up and eat a treat with a tennis ball in her mouth!!!!!!!!!!
River made a great start in the show ring with Best Puppy In Breed awards and many 1st's as a junior. River has excellent conformation and movement to die for.
Her gun dog training has really taken off and she is doing really well. The gundog trainers said a show bred labrador wouldn't and couldn't work, well they were astounded when they met this one!!! Not only will she work but they had to admit she was one of the best.
River is the resident clown, must be something to do with her upbringing!!! Full of fun but still fairly obedient.
River passed her Pets As Therapy test at the age of 6 months an outstanding achievement for a labrador puppy. She had however been working unoffically at the residential home since she was 4 months old and mastered the art of standing on the wheels of the wheelchairs or sitting on the patient's beds extremely calmly. She never once touched tubes or anything the patients were being fed though and she always brought a smile to their faces however ill they were. Before any show wins or other achievements this is probably what I am most proud of River for and her achievements here show the very best of the labrador breed and of course that true labrador temperment.
River had a litter at the age of 3 years and we kept 2 beautiful boys Tarn and Chobee. Unfortunately both were so laid back they were almost dead and so they were placed with other families. Chobee now lives within the grounds of a private school campus, whilst Tarn is enjoying life in Canada where he is also shown occasionally.
Unfortunately despite mating River on a number of other occasions she never took and so she only ever had the one litter. At the age of nearly 6 I have decided to accept it is what is meant to be and she has been spayed.
What the judges say........
Gorgeous black bitch. Very nice type with flowing lines, who showed calmly.Good head and expression. Clean neck into a good front assembly, strong topline, neat feet, good tail set. Easily the best mover in the class.
Beautiful black puppy who owns the ring. Well made and all in proportion. Moves with drive and attitude.

River now resides with Nigel and Monique who I met quite by accident. They own a large complex of holiday cottages etc and own acres of land with rivers. River initally went for a weeks trial but never returned, she fitted in really well and loves it there. Her new brothers Scamp and Benji run around with River but I am told she sleeps alot of the day away. I also know for a fact River does not sleep with the boys but upstairs where she can keep her eye on Nigel. River even gets to swim in the swimming pool on site LOL
